Who are the truly viable candidates for the Republicans candidate for US President in 2012?

(BrightCitizen.com)  The answer is very clear.  For any candidate of substance, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are the two that will be left standing.  That is barring any ‘skeletons in the closet’ that the media can dig up and use against them.

What about the others?

  • Rick Perry has got a serious image issue after multiple mistakes on national television.
  • Michelle Back is running like a lone sheep on an empty field with no one nearby.
  • Herman Cain has just not got the depth of experience nor the international exposure that can keep him competitive.
  • Ron Paul has a cult-like following among Americans with an isolationist inclination but unfortunately that will probably keep him from the mainstream.
  • Rick Santorum is one we’re not even sure why he is still running.

It Is Time For Michelle Bachmann To Step Out Of The Race For US President for the Republicans

Yes, we’ve all winced as we’ve watched Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann respond to questions during the debates.  We’re sure she is probably a brilliant person, great representative of her district, distinct lawyer and just an all around great person.  However, at the Washington DC debate where she introduced herself with a happy thanksgiving, was the last sign for a couple of us at Bright Citizen that she was just not ‘very presidential’.

She has no following, is not a proven leader, and frankly has not done well at the polls.  Just as we suggested for her fellow Minnesontian Tim Pawlenty, it is time for her to drop out of the race for the Republican candidate for the US presidential race against Barak Obama.

Tim Pawlenty seemed to take cue with low polls but interestingly enough when you’re down it seems you tend to attack others.  Now Bachmann is doing the same thing as Newt Gingrich’s experience has begun to shine in Republican debates.  Apparently she is looking for ways to attack the front runners.  Digging up 8 year old letters and re-interpreting them is not productive to the selection process.

It is clear the Michelle Bachmann has not got the support to be elected.  It is time for her to bow out so that the strong candidates can focus on replacing the current US president if that is what they are going to do.

For the next candidate that can’t make it, our guess is despite having lots of campaign cash, Rick Perry will be heading back to focus on the affairs of Texas.  A great guy with a real job creation record, but communication skills are a must to compete on the national scale.  He may make it to the convention, but he has no chance of getting the nomination.

We hope Michelle Bachmann exits the stage soon, but based on what we’ve seen of Perry, he probably will be a small distraction until he gets the boot.

The Biased Media Attack On Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich Begins

(BrightCitizen.com)  We all knew it would happen.  Whomever doesn’t tow the CNN, MSNBC line must be a radical and cannot be mainstream.  Unfortunately, ‘mainstream’ to the biased media means generally people who don’t believe in the traditional family, are pro-life, and believe that work is something you do well and you will grow financially and academically.

Now that Mr. Herman Cain has lost the lead in the polls due to the dubious sexual harassment accusations it seems the media attack has changed.  Jack Abramoff fired one of the early shots by calling Newt Gingrich a dirty politician in his piece on Reuters entitled, All Of Washington Swims In Newt’s Swap.  Aren’t we fed up with name calling and willing to give someone a chance?  Anyone who has ever run a business will realize 1m USD is not much to talk about.  People need to earn a living and most people will accept whatever a company pays them for their work.  Why don’t we ask the people who requested the service about it rather than assuming it was illegal or dirty?

Furthermore, Americans don’t need witch hungering mentality like Mr. Abramoff’s article is attempting to do, attacking someone because they were somehow in office.  Could he is prejudiced against Mr. Gingrich or the ideals he stands for?

Of course, lobbyists and interest groups in Washington are corrupt and should be banned.  A recent interview of a lobbyist by Mike Huckabee sheds some bright lights on how easy it is for these people to go over the line of honesty.  Clearly, this is something that needs attention in the nation’s capital.  When you dig down, you find that Jack Abramoff was the guy who went to prison.

Just because there is corruption in Washington, does that anyone who has served in Washington or worked for the government is corrupt until death?  We think not.  The best engineer to fix a system is a person who understand how it works.  Rather than trying to beat up someone because citizens’ interest in the polls are rising, let’s ask more questions and get a good understanding of what they would do when they were in office.

Clearly many business professionals regret the lack of not getting to better know our current president and some members of congress before they were put into office.  People are getting smarter as we see the rise of the Tea Party movement in the country forcing politicians as well as the people who support them to be more transparent.

As for Mr. Gingrich, let him debate, let him compete for the job.  Competition is what brings growth.

Will President Barak Obama Use Super Committee Failure As An Excuse?

(BrightCitizen.com)  With the upcoming self-imposed deadline for the super committee coming up.  Whitehouse press secretary Jay Carney today has begun criticizing Republicans for the inability of both parties to come to agreement on deficit cuts before Congress’ self-imposed automatic budget cuts take effect indiscriminately hacking budgets of US government agencies and services.

Flamboyant talk show host, Rush Limbaugh says the purpose of the Super Committee for Obama and Democrats was to change the discussion for deficit reduction to tax increases.  Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stated in debates early in 2011 that the Super Committee was a waste of time and destined for failure.

President Barak Obama started campaigning in 4 April 2011 for reelection to office.  This brings concern for those who want to have him focused on representing the people of the United States, not running for office.  As President Obama does not have a successful record to run on with high unemployment and business fearful of more indiscriminate laws unwilling to invest too much in the US, many are concerned that Obama’s only chance is to belittle the competition and talk about their inability to get things done.

Today’s apparent failure of the super committee could play right in to Obama’s plan to run a negative campaign to try to stay in office.  We hope not.  There is a possibility is that he may use the Supercommittee results as an excuse to continue his unilateral use of rule by Presidential executive order to push his political agenda.

We hope the next presidential election will focus on candidates promoting the merits of their work and why the candidate should be elected.

Some democrats have suggested that Obama should be revetted through a presidential primary as the republicans have been doing since the beginning of the GOP debates on 5 May 2011.

Is US President Barak Obama A Committed Christian?

Is Barak Obama a committed Christian?  First of all what is a Committed Christian?  A Committed Christian is a person who carefully and wholly follows the teachings of Jesus the Messiah and is a regular attender of a fellowship of believers working daily to follow Him.  Jesus said that we are not to judge others hypocritically but that His followers are supposed to follow His teachings.  Jesus said believers are supposed to have fruit (good positive results).

In a Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson broadcast last week, Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council made it what many committed Christians are thinking saying,

“I have no doubt, as you look back over the last two and a half of years of this administration, that the president has used his bully pulpit—he has done public policy but beyond the public policy that he’s pushed for—that it’s created an atmosphere that is hostile toward Christianity,” Perkins said.

Over the last 2.5 years of the Obama presidency, we have seen actions that go against the teachings of Jesus the Messiah.

-Bans on federal funding to be used for abortion were immediately lifted when he took office

-He said he was a member of a church were the pastor preached prejudice and only disassociated once the media reported on the church teachings of hate and division.

-Before and during president we do not know what church he actually attends as he does not meet regularly with any believers.

-He promotes homosexual marriage that is direct contradiction to Biblical teaching to both Jews and followers of Jesus.

-He cancelled the national day of prayer and has created an anti-Christian environment in government.

-In four separate instances has voted against bills that would protect aborted babies that were born alive.

There are many things that demonstrate that he does not have the fruit of a follower of Jesus.  If you want to see their fruit you can look at what they do.  Their ‘fruit’.  Actions speak louder than words, but in the case of Barak Obama regarding whether he truly follows Jesus or not; his words speak just as loud as his actions.

In a 2004 interview with Cathleen Falsani he said,

I believe that there are many paths to the same place.

All people of faith, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Animists- EVERYONE knows the same God.

In a meeting of evangelical leaders in 2008, when asked if Jesus was the only way to God he replied.

Jesus is the only way for me.

There is so much material out there that shows He is not a follower of Jesus.  Followers of Jesus believe and follow the Bible.  Followers of Jesus are not to hypocritically judge other believers, however looking at the fruit that Jesus told us to display in our lives is essential for protecting ourselves against false teachers, hypocrites and those who are anti-Christ.

In American politics, many career politicians say they are Christians so that they can appeal to the masses of Christians in the United States populace.  This is very clearly the case with Barak Obama… a true ‘political Christian’.

Barak Obama seems to speak enough of the Christian language to talk about being ‘saved’ but his actions and words speak louder than just saying he knew “Jesus as His Savior.”

A New Leader Rises From The Ranks of the Republican Presidential Candidates- Newt Gingrich

(Bright Citizen.com)  With little financing and many challenges the presidential campaign of Newt Gingrich was less than an underdog.  However, with this year’s intensive debate schedule voters have had the opportunity to become very familiar with the candidates.  Fox News reports

The new polls continue to show Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at the top. But Gingrich has carved out a space right alongside them.

A McClatchy-Marist poll showed Romney leading with 23 percent, and Gingrich close behind with 19 percent. Cain was trailing slightly with 17 percent.

A CBS News poll also released Friday showed Cain leading with 18 percent — Romney and Gingrich were close behind with 15 percent each.

Reuters reports a similar story saying.

Republican front-runner Mitt Romney has a new challenge to contend with as presidential candidates brace for another debate on Saturday — the rise of Newt Gingrich.

The former speaker of the House of Representatives is gaining in the polls and may represent conservatives’ last best hope in 2012 in their search for an alternative to the more moderate Romney, now that Herman Cain and Rick Perry are struggling.

Clearly, people are not comfortable with Mitt Romney as many view him as condescending and haughty in the debates as well as being a flip-flopper on the issues that matter.

At BrightCitizen.com, we are excited to see a candidate arise of substance.  We want to see a president in the United States who is seasoned, honorable, and able to make decisions based on a solid understanding of history.  Now 68 years old, the former Speaker of the House, Mr. Gingrich admits he is less than perfect as he confessed that he asked and received God’s forgiveness for how he divorced his ailing wife years ago.  His debate performances and personal efforts to focus candidates of dethroning Barak Obama over attacking each other have shown what seems to be proving to be a perfect strategy.
