(BrightCitizen.com) It appears Rich Santorum may actually have beat Mitt Romney in the Iowa elections. Read on here.
Newt Gingrich: ‘I have the best chance to beat Barack Obama’
Isn’t this the kind of person companies want to hire?
Fired for working through a lunch break? I think HR departments are looking for this type of person.
Sharon Smiley had worked for 10 years as a receptionist and administrative assistant at a Chicago real estate company until she was fired for skipping lunch one day. After a two-year battle, an appeals court in Illinois has found that denial of her unemployment benefits was “clearly erroneous.”
Smiley, 48, punched out of work for lunch Jan. 28, 2010, but remained at her desk to finish a project assigned by a manager because she did not plan to eat that day, she said.
Smiley, who had passed her 10-year anniversary with the company more than a month before, said another manager told her it was time for her to go to lunch and step away from her desk, but she refused. That manager observed Smiley working on a spreadsheet on her computer, answering the phone and responding to questions by people who approached her desk, according to a filing from the appellate court of Illinois.

Jon Huntsman Withdraws From The US GOP Presidential Race, Why Did He Bother?
(BrightCitizen.com) Jon Huntsman Withdraws From The US GOP Presidential Race, but does it really matter? He decided to endorse Mitt Romney as the most electable to beat Barak Obama on the democratic party side. Is anyone surprised?
Why was Jon Huntsman even running for President? Was it really to win, or was it for some other reason? Clearly he was never a serious contender to anyone but the left-wing media outlets. He didn’t seriously campaign in Iowa but focused on New Hampshire. A bit strange strategy for anyone following politics. Why did he run? Being the son a rich industrialist in Utah, Huntsman has no money issues personally. Some of the reasons why Huntsman may have run is to-
- Somehow make the Mormon based candidates more easily acceptable to the majority of evangelical Christians in the US by being a second Mormon candidate to run.
- Get his name in the hat for future runs at political office and build name recognition for himself.
- To somehow get himself in a position to be selected as VP candidate or some other position in a new Republican administration
With time, we’ll get a better idea of why Jon Huntsman even bothered to run for President. He never really had a chance. Besides that, we’ll never forget his nerdy answer to what he would take to the Whitehouse if he were elected President. While other candidates were talking about their wives, Jon Huntsman replied, “I would take my Harley Davidson”.
What Is Former US President Jimmy Carter Thinking?
(BrightCitizen.com) Clearly many people see Jimmy Carter as America’s worst president. That is reflected in his polling numbers as president and failure to get re-elected. Despite his poor performance as a whole, he was a frequent critic of US President George Bush II and has constantly been vocally expressing his opinion on the media stage.
Now Carter is involved in Egyptian politics as you can see in a video here. Do we really need former US president’s involved in the politics of other countries? Is this what former are President’s supposed to do?
It is noble to want to help other countries, but as his positions don’t seem to reflect the feelings of the American people in general, we wonder when we will be free of this former President.

Obama Starts To Really Go To Church- Well, At Least Get Involved In Their Affairs
(BrightCitizen.com) Many conservatives are convinced that Barak Obama is America’s worst president. Based on approval rating among democrats and republicans, this may be true. Hollywood personalities with their mixed up lives and efforts to buck society in general tends to love democratic politicians. However, even Matt Damon’s support for Barak Obama has gone down the tube.
Barak recognized it and did the unpresidential thing of responding to Damon’s comments on him by criticizing his acting in a recent movie at last year’s press correspondents dinner.
For some reason, Obama doesn’t mind seeing the US dwindle in power and influence in the world. However, he does want to control people in what many call a move towards socialism or event communism.
Recently, the Department of Justice under Obama tried to tell a church that they had no right to dismiss ministers that did not follow their beliefs. The supreme court responded directly and succinctly addressing this hypocrisy
But, Chief Justice Roberts pushed back hard, telling the government essentially to butt out:
“Requiring a church to accept or retain an unwanted minister, or punishing a church for failing to do so, intrudes upon more than a mere employment decision. Such action interferes with the internal governance of the church, depriving the church of control over the selection of those who will personify its beliefs. By imposing an unwanted minister, the state infringes the free exercise clause, which protects a religious group’s right to shape its own faith and mission through its appointments. According the state the power to determine which individuals will minister to the faithful also violates the establishment clause, which prohibits government involvement in such ecclesiastical decisions.”
You can read more about it here.
One wonders why Obama could be such a weakling when it comes to world influence and international relations that affects the success of US business to a tyrant on trying to tell a church how they should hire.
Talk About Clueless Government, Iran Needs A Competent PR Firm
(BrightCitizen.com) If you follow international news, you are probably amazed at the bumbling Iranian government. Clearly the US under Barak Obama missed an opportunity to support it’s people that apparently voted their tyrannical ‘president’ down only to be subjected to a harsh crackdown by their police. This was all despite thousands protesting doctored election results in July 2009. Protests were met by the Basij paramilitary police chasing, beating, and killing their own unarmed countrymen.
If you don’t deal with a problem, it will likely come back. Here comes the Iranian military running around in boats with handguns and short-barrelled rifles pointed around the boats. Who are they going to scare? Yes, they do have missiles and have threatened to nuke Israel. Someone has to deal with the problem.

Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) Is Washington Out Of Control, Again

(BrightCitizen.com) Congressman Lamar Smith (R-TX) and thirty-one other elected representatives from both the Democratic and Republican parties are trying to legislate the internet.
In November they came up with SOPA or HR 3261 as a legislative response to the myriads of phishing, illegal meds, and various other illegal or immoral sites on the internet. They want businesses to police the net. They idea is novel but the other parallel here would be Dodd Frank that only added financial firms millions in extra costs. You cannot legislate morality.
Despite the law not being implemented yet (just came up in November right?), things have already happened to one David Rusenko who founded a website hosting business called Weebly.com getting a call from GoDaddy.com saying that there has been a complaint about his website and his sites will be taken down. You can read his story here.
After that trouble, he quickly transferred his domains away from GoDaddy. As did Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales after hearing about GoDaddy’s support for SOPA. Still not sure what Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is? There is a pretty respectable write up on Wikipedia here.
We really need term limits in the United States Congress as these people are in their positions too long and seem to lose contact with what the people (business people) need in order to pay the representatives salaries (through taxes).
