Barak Obama’s Tax The Rich! Calls Draw Suspicion

(BrightCitizen.com)  Americans are becoming increasingly skeptical of Barak Obama’s calls for ‘taxing the rich’ as some type of artificial hope that more taxation on wealthier American’s can fix the American Federal government’s financial woes.

Boca Raton, Fla. –  President Obama forged ahead Tuesday his election-year insistence that the wealthiest Americans pay a greater share of taxes, telling Florida college students that everybody must help rebuild the country.

Hoping to draw a sharp contrast with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Obama gave his support to the so-called “Buffett rule” — which would change the U.S. tax law so that Americans making $1 million or more would have to pay at least 30 percent of their income in federal taxes.

Referenced here.  Economists agree that increased taxation on the rich cannot cover the overspending government programs and high debts increased recently by Obama administration policy and previous governments as well.

Barak Obama needs to unite Americans and bring solid fiscal policy to the United States federal government.

Mitt Romney’s Mormonism May Kill Him

(BrightCitizen.com)  Is America ready for a Mormon President?  We at BrightCitizen believe that Mitt Romney has to do a lot of convincing to get the evangelical Christians on his side.  Jack Welch the former CEO of General Electric said in a recent interview,

Look, it’s hardly a secret that we support former Governor Romney. He is, in our view, the most qualified and electable Republican candidate left in the race.

But we‘re concerned that Romney is not facing reality the way it is – which is that his religion is going to become a major issue. In fact, we can imagine that come the general election, Romney’s taxes and his years at Bain will be background noise and the foreground roar will be all about Mormonism.

And why wouldn’t it be? His religion was an issue last time Romney ran for national office, and America’s large bloc of vocal Evangelical Christians, which any Republican candidate will need to win the White House, has clearly signaled once again that Mormonism is an area of deep concern. And yet, even with that evident reality, it appears this is Romney’s Kodak Moment. He’s hoping and waiting.

Hoping and waiting is not a winning strategy.

You can read the whole article and see the interview here.  But the point is, Mitt Romney tends to hope things just go away as he did when there were calls to release his taxes and he scoffed.

Newt Gingrich Defeats Mitt Romney in South Carolina US Presidential Primary

(BrightCitizen.com)  Many Americans voiced their pleasure in the defeat of Mitt Romney in South Carolina by Newt Gingrich.  This creates a situation where the GOP candidate is still up in the air.  Mitt Romney with all his cash has not been able to tie up the nomination with all his attack advertising.  Check out the video here.

ABC News Attack On Newt Gingrich Just Didn’t Work

(BrightCitizen.com) ABC News strategically aired an interview they did with Newt Gingrich’s second wife in hopes of taking down the former congressman a day before a big vote in South Carolina.  Many think that taking Gingrich our of the race will increase Obama’s chances of winning if it is just a battle of the apparently ‘boring’ candidates Obama and Romney for president this year.

Of course, most people can read the motivation of interview.  Again, this is an example of ABC News trying to influence the presidential GOP race.  A great way to show ABC what you think is by not watching their programs or visiting their website.  Fewer views equal less advertising funds from companies.

How did people take this underhanded attack?  One commenter on a news site said,

“I don’t care what Newt did the last 12 years of his life.  As long as he can fix what the current occupant of the Whitehouse did the last 3.5 years.   Enough of Obama”

Rick Santorum Defeats Mitt Romney In Iowa US Presidential Primary

It’s official. Congratulations to Rick Santorum for beating Mitt Romney in the Iowa US Presidential.  Read more here.

Oops! Turns out Rick Santorum beat Mitt Romney in Iowa. Does it matter?

A new vote tally shows Rick Santorum won the Iowa caucuses by 34 votes over runner-up Mitt Romney. But aside from bragging rights, the shift in results is unlikely to affect the GOP race.

Now probably time for Mr. Santorum to retire and get behind Newt Gingrich.  Mitt Romney is just not good enough.

Jon Huntsman Withdraws From The US GOP Presidential Race, Why Did He Bother?

(BrightCitizen.com)  Jon Huntsman Withdraws From The US GOP Presidential Race, but does it really matter?  He decided to endorse Mitt Romney as the most electable to beat Barak Obama on the democratic party side.  Is anyone surprised?

Why was Jon Huntsman even running for President?  Was it really to win, or was it for some other reason?  Clearly he was never a serious contender to anyone but the left-wing media outlets.  He didn’t seriously campaign in Iowa but focused on New Hampshire.  A bit strange strategy for anyone following politics.  Why did he run? Being the son a rich industrialist in Utah, Huntsman has no money issues personally.  Some of the reasons why Huntsman may have run is to-

  • Somehow make the Mormon based candidates more easily acceptable to the majority of evangelical Christians in the US by being a second Mormon candidate to run.
  • Get his name in the hat for future runs at political office and build name recognition for himself.
  • To somehow get himself in a position to be selected as VP candidate or some other position in a new Republican administration

With time, we’ll get a better idea of why Jon Huntsman even bothered to run for President.  He never really had a chance.  Besides that, we’ll never forget his nerdy answer to what he would take to the Whitehouse if he were elected President.  While other candidates were talking about their wives, Jon Huntsman replied, “I would take my Harley Davidson”.
