US President Obama Drops God From Thanksgiving Celebrations

Probably the most Jesus Christ related holiday besides Christmas in the US is Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is known as the day when the majority of Americans give thanks to God Almighty for the nation we have and the families we love.

Although US president’s have varied in their levels of commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, many citizens since 2008 have noted have Barak Obama has not only shown any lack of commitment (as noted in  “Is Barak Obama A Committed Christian?”) but has many actions that are anti-Christ.  Are the citizens beginning to see a pattern?  You can decide for yourself.

Here are the excerpts from his Thanksgiving Day talk.

Remarks of President Barack Obama

Weekly Address

Thursday, November 24, 2011

The White House

From my family to yours, I’d like to wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Like millions of Americans, Michelle, Malia, Sasha and I will spend the day eating great food, watching a little football, and reflecting on how truly lucky we truly are.

As Americans, each of us has our own list of things and people to be thankful for.  But there are some blessings we all share.

We’re especially grateful for the men and women who defend our country overseas. To all the service members eating Thanksgiving dinner far from your families: the American people are thinking of you today.  And when you come home, we intend to make sure that we serve you as well as you’re serving America.

We’re also grateful for the Americans who are taking time out of their holiday to serve in soup kitchens and shelters, making sure their neighbors have a hot meal and a place to stay. This sense of mutual responsibility – the idea that I am my brother’s keeper; that I am my sister’s keeper – has always been a part of what makes our country special. And it’s one of the reasons the Thanksgiving tradition has endured.

The very first Thanksgiving was a celebration of community during a time of great hardship, and we have followed that example ever since. Even when the fate of our union was far from certain – during a Civil War, two World Wars, a Great Depression – Americans drew strength from each other. They had faith that tomorrow would be better than today.

We’re grateful that they did. As we gather around the table, we pause to remember the pilgrims, pioneers, and patriots who helped make this country what it is. They faced impossible odds, and yet somehow, they persevered. Today, it’s our turn.

I know that for many of you, this Thanksgiving is more difficult than most. But no matter how tough things are right now, we still give thanks for that most American of blessings, the chance to determine our own destiny. The problems we face didn’t develop overnight, and we won’t solve them overnight. But we will solve them. All it takes is for each of us to do our part.

With all the partisanship and gridlock here in Washington, it’s easy to wonder if such unity is really possible. But think about what’s happening at this very moment: Americans from all walks of life are coming together as one people, grateful for the blessings of family, community, and country.

If we keep that spirit alive, if we support each other, and look out for each other, and remember that we’re all in this together, then I know that we too will overcome the challenges of our time.

So today, I’m thankful to serve as your President and Commander-and-Chief. I’m thankful that my daughters get to grow up in this great country of ours. And I’m thankful for the chance to do my part, as together, we make tomorrow better than today.

Thanks, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Years of mismanagement has bankrupted the US government

Many Americans are frustrated with the rate of entitlement spending by novice us president barak Obama. The United States is heading towards bankruptcy after years of governing beyond its means. Will Obama provide leadership? Will congressional interests work for the citizens?

Will President Barak Obama Use Super Committee Failure As An Excuse?

(BrightCitizen.com)  With the upcoming self-imposed deadline for the super committee coming up.  Whitehouse press secretary Jay Carney today has begun criticizing Republicans for the inability of both parties to come to agreement on deficit cuts before Congress’ self-imposed automatic budget cuts take effect indiscriminately hacking budgets of US government agencies and services.

Flamboyant talk show host, Rush Limbaugh says the purpose of the Super Committee for Obama and Democrats was to change the discussion for deficit reduction to tax increases.  Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stated in debates early in 2011 that the Super Committee was a waste of time and destined for failure.

President Barak Obama started campaigning in 4 April 2011 for reelection to office.  This brings concern for those who want to have him focused on representing the people of the United States, not running for office.  As President Obama does not have a successful record to run on with high unemployment and business fearful of more indiscriminate laws unwilling to invest too much in the US, many are concerned that Obama’s only chance is to belittle the competition and talk about their inability to get things done.

Today’s apparent failure of the super committee could play right in to Obama’s plan to run a negative campaign to try to stay in office.  We hope not.  There is a possibility is that he may use the Supercommittee results as an excuse to continue his unilateral use of rule by Presidential executive order to push his political agenda.

We hope the next presidential election will focus on candidates promoting the merits of their work and why the candidate should be elected.

Some democrats have suggested that Obama should be revetted through a presidential primary as the republicans have been doing since the beginning of the GOP debates on 5 May 2011.

Making Friends And Influencing People Through Effective Email and Digital Communications

(BrightCitizen.com) Communicating well is very important.  It can mean the difference between peace and war (sometimes even at the office), and in some cases life and death.  In business, life, and politics, email, social media, and other forms of digital communication are essential to getting out your message.

A great post on the Decker blog entitled Refreshing Your Email Manners talks about communicating effectively via email.  A quick summary from Bright Citizen’s perspective would be-

-Put a descriptive subject in the subject line of an email that gets to the point

-Keep your email direct and to the point

-Avoid abusing punctuation such as multiple ???, !!!, and so forth

-Reply to the sender.  Only reply all as absolutely necessary.

There is a lot more we can say about this, however we hope this will get you thinking.

US President Barak Obama Announces Deployment of US Marines To Australia

(BrightCitizen.com)  Good on ya mate!  (Australian for ‘Good for you’).  We never thought we would see the day when the Americans would dispatch military personal to Australia.  However US President Barak Obama in a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard  announced the dispatch of American Marines to Australia.  The BBC reports

Australia has agreed to host a full US Marine task force in the coming years, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced at a news conference with US President Barack Obama in Canberra.

She said about 250 US Marines would arrive next year, eventually being built up to 2,500 personnel.

The deployment is being seen as a move to counter China’s growing influence.

But Mr Obama said the US was “stepping up its commitment to the entire Asia-Pacific”, not excluding China.

The interesting thing to note is that although Barak Obama campaigned to get into office on a ‘peace not war’ theme. However, he like any other US president, had to get his reality check and after entering office had to make sure his nation is competitive.

However, the dispatch does make one wonder if it is really necessary.  Aren’t their enough US soldiers dispatched in Asia Pacific with numerous bases in Japan and Korea, not to mention Hawaii and Guam?

Michael Moore Visits Occupy Wall Street But Is He One Of The 99%?

Michael Moore actually visited Occupy Denver to stir up the troups. However when a reporter asked him about if he qualified as being in the 99% and having a net worth of 50 million USD his response was interesting. Instead of saying no, I am not worth that much! He responded by calling the reporter a punk and calling him a liar.
With that type of you response you start to wonder. Check out the video here

It seems a bit like the rooster visiting the henhouse to make sure they keep laying those eggs

Where You Locate Your Company Matters-Mark Zuckerberg

This is a very good read on Techcrunch regarding Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuck replied: If I were starting now I would do things very differently. I didn’t know anything. In Silicon Valley, you get this feeling that you have to be out here. But it’s not the only place to be. If I were starting now, I would have stayed in Boston. [Silicon Valley] is a little short-term focused and that bothers me.

He explained that he had a conversation once with Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos about this, and the average time someone stays in job at Seattle is twice as long than it is in Silicon Valley. “There’s a culture out here where people don’t commit to doing things, I feel like a lot of companies built outside of Silicon Valley seem to be focused on a longer-term,” he explains. “You don’t have to move out here to do this.”

Quoted from here.  With our team in the United States, Japan, and Korea we do notice a difference in not only national cultures but also areas or district cultures.  For example the business culture in Washington’s Bellevue varies from the business culture of Seattle or Tacoma.  In Japan, the culture of Osaka varies to Tokyo or Yokohama even.  Even in Seoul the business people of Seoul differ to their friends in Pusan.

Good thing to keep in mind when starting, or even moving your company.
