If you aren’t thinking Asia, you’re missing a huge boat.

At this panel discussing how to deal with the US goverment’s refusal to protect it’s embassy staff and ambassador in Benghazi, a muslim American drops the I-bomb (Islam).

The response from one of the panelists is full of insights and understanding that brings the audience to their feet.

Can tell you how many times I have seen writers bend the facts to meet some (usually political) purpose.  Walmart did a great job a straightening out the New York Times writer.

Great meeting this evening at the  CIF. Thanks everyone for making it a successful meeting.  It was a pleasure to see so many people of influence in one place.

Here’s what Barak has said.

“Jesus is a historical figure for me, and He’s also a bridge between God and man … and He’s also a wonderful teacher.” Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.
“I believe there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power.” There is salvation in no one else except through Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son.
“I’m a big believer in tolerance. I’m a progressive Christian.” While we should respect everyone’s beliefs, we can’t respect everyone’s conduct.
“I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell.” The path to salvation is open to all, but it is narrow, excluding all who reject God’s free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ.
“Parts of the Bible may be modified to accommodate modern life.” Extreme caution is needed here, as we have a mandate to “rightly divide the Word of truth.”
“What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, I will be rewarded. I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die.” Salvation comes as a result not of good deeds we do but totally as a gift of God received by faith and with a certainty of heaven upon one’s death.
“Those opposed to abortion cannot simply invoke God’s will—they have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths.” At conception, a separate human being is created in God’s image and deserves full protection and care until the child is born.
Regarding homosexuality and gay marriage, “I am not willing to accept a reading of the Bible that consists of an obscure line from Romans to be more defining of Christianity than the Sermon on the Mount.” Throughout the entire Bible, the practice of homosexuality is declared as sinful and contradicting of God’s design for human relationships, marriage and family.

Dropbox did a great job opening up the cloud storage market.  They are definitely the fastest.  For a change, we tried to use Sugarsync as Dropbox is expensive if you pay.  Last Fall, Sugarsync went from a free service to a paid service.  We paid, as we think it is good to support what is important to you.After nearly seven months of putting up with various issues on Sugarsync, we gave up.  Why?

• Files we saved on one home computer weren’t synched on the other computer.
• Sugar gave us some files that were missing the contents that we had edited on another machine as well as some duplicates
• Sugarsync doesn’t refund your remaining months, if you decide to leave the service.  One year is one year.

After looking at various services such as Box.com, Dropbox.com again, Skydrive/Onedrive, and others we found Barracuda Networks new service called Copy.com.  Although not as speedy as Dropbox, it looks like they are really trying to kick things off well.  Here’s a few interesting points.

• Free accounts start at 15GB, Introduce a friend and both of you get 5GB additional
• Each time you introduce someone you get 5GB.  It seems there is no limit but guessing the campaign will end once the service becomes popular.
• SSL and security seems solid
• Paid plans have very generous disc space
• For a SME, small to medium enterprise, 5 of you can work for free on a generous sized share
• It’s not Google drive, Microsoft, or some other major service (yet) that is so targeted by the US government.

So far, liking the service for personal use.  Don’t use for business, but it seems Barracuda has their marketing together on this and is serious about being a competitor for cloud storage.
