Can Overworking Kill You?

(BrightCitizen.com) The idea that overworking can kill you was recently rebuffed by a cardiologist at a municipal hospital we talked to.  However, that information seems to be incorrect.

In London, a Bank of America intern, Moritz Erhardt, was found dead this week, collapsed in his student apartment, after reportedly working three straight days in the company’s London investment-banking unit.  (More here).

In Tokyo, an associate pastor who worked long hours and 6 days a week collapsed in front of a crowd in Japan as while he was opening a meeting on 18 August.  The church memorialised him here.

Can overworking kill you?  The answer is probably yes.

What is the advice from BrightCitizen if you want to live long and strong?  It’s three simple points.

  1. Eat natural foods (not processing in a factory)
  2. Get 8 hours of sleep each night
  3. Exercise at least 3 times a week, getting your heart rate up for at a minimum of 20 minutes each time.

Does fear of death from overwork justify not working?  People die from being lazy and doing nothing.  Absolutely not!

Life is about balance and work, play, and enjoying life itself is essential to living long and strong.

Finally, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Gets The Picture

Sometimes it take a while for us to figure it out. That likely goes for everyone.

With the constant string of Microsoft failures and the disappointing stock price, Ballmer has finally decided to throw in the towel. Analysts have been calling for this for some time. It’s the way the market works.

Will Steve’s exit speed up a Microsoft recovery? We probably have to wait and see. You can see about hits and misses under Ballmer here.

Will it continue downward like Yahoo did or will a worthy leader be put in charge? We believe Microsoft is a good brand but is stifled. Innovation is discouraged and it has gone from a great place to work to an island of contractors and stiff rules. Maybe we have a miconsception?

However MS software such as the Exchange Server or Office products are not going away anytime soon. Google Apps has been sucking up some smaller sites that don’t care about privacy and being profiled but Microsoft has actually responded well with it’s hosted Exchange service called Office365.

If you are upset about the George Zimmerman trial result, you may want to know some of the facts

(BrightCitizen.com) Some are complaining about the result of the George Zimmerman trial. Others think that it is the result of a jury’s review of the case and are glad to see it off the national news scene every day. Yet others see it as a great distraction from Barak Obama’s scandals and abuse of power.

If you are not sure about the situation, you may want to know the facts. Here are a few things you should know courtesy of www.dlas.org.

Please Note: This survey focuses specifically on some of the most underreported (or misreported) facts in this case — facts that challenge many of the preconceptions created by the news media’s coverage of this topic. It is not meant to be a balanced or comprehensive list of all the evidence. It does not cover the well-known facts and is not a scientific poll of any kind. Its purpose is to highlight the facts you probably didn’t know if you are convinced the Zimmerman verdict was wrong — facts that were ignored or widely misreported because they contradicted the story many in the news media wanted to tell.

Here’s some quick background:

The primary issue in the Zimmerman Trial was whether there was enough evidence to conclude that Zimmerman may have legitimately acted in self-defense. During the trial, it wasn’t necessary for the defense team to absolutely prove that Zimmerman acted in self-defense — just that there was enough evidence (or lack of contrary evidence) to believe it was reasonably possible.

Zimmerman’s defense claim is basically this:

Zimmerman was in his car when he spotted Trayvon Martin acting strange (wandering in the rain and staring at the houses), so he called the police. After seeing Zimmerman in his car, Martin started running off down the walkway between some of the buildings. Zimmerman then got out of his car but lost sight of Martin after a few moments. He continued in the same direction as Martin for a few hundred feet either to try to see where Martin went or to check the street name to give an address to the police (or both).

Zimmerman says he lost sight of Martin, but since the dispatcher advised him not to continue following, he started walking back to meet the police. Martin then approached him from behind and said “Yo, you got a problem?” Zimmerman said “No” and picked up his phone to call the police. Martin then said “Well, you do now” and punched Zimmerman in the face. Zimmerman was knocked to the ground while Martin got on top of him and started hitting him and bashing his head into the ground. Zimmerman says that when Martin saw his gun he tried to grab it saying “You’re going to die tonight, motherf***er” so he only fired the gun in self-defense, believing his life was in danger.

If that version of events was true, then Zimmerman had a legitimate self-defense claim. Martin would not have been justified in attacking him because he could not have reasonably thought he was being threatened by a guy walking back to his car, especially after he responded with “No” when Martin asked “You got a problem?”

If, however, Zimmerman lied about what happened and had actually confronted Martin and attacked him first (or intentionally tried to provoke him into fighting), he could not legitimately claim self-defense.

Can A Muslim American Write An Accurate History On Jesus Of Nazareth?

Reza Aslan, a Muslim American living in California, has written a book on Jesus of Nazareth. He argues that he is an expert on Religion but yet thought leaders question how a muslim professor can comment on Jesus Christ without bias. Reza Aslan, author of ‘Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth,’ says he wrote the book as a historian, not as a Muslim.

The majority believe bias as inherent. In this interview, you can see his spirited effort to portray himself as an academic.

At BrightCitizen.com, we find it interesting that a 41-year Iranian-American can have such different revelations from the same history that scholars have been studying for 2,000 years. The history of Jesus Christ chronicled and confirmed and scholars for so long, it is hard to believe someone can reinterpret the same materials in such a different way. Many think he has two purposes-
1) Get attention to sell books
2) Deny the divinity of Jesus the Christ

You can see his interview below.

Cloud PBX Hosting and Business Email Collaborations Started In Israel?

In our business we’re big into the cloud.  We’ve got hosted cloud phones, cloud business email and websites.  Is this cloud idea something new?  Seems like the Bible has something to say about it.

It looks like we’ve all been under this cloud for awhile.

1Co 10:1

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea,”

Is The Zimmerman Trial A Done Deal?

trayvon_martin_twitter

(BrightCitizen.com) If you’ve been watching the George Zimmerman trial, you’re getting the play by play action on testimonies, the Martin family saying things were racially motivated, and the various things going on inside and outside the courtroom.

Most people are probably tired of it. The majority has concluded that George Zimmerman was defending himself against a bully who was trying to kill him.  Have we had enough?  Probably.

Most testimony, even from the prosecutors is just confirming what we all thought.  Is it time to close the case?  Probably.  It is innocent until proven guilty in the United States, but some have taken it to be guilty until proven innocent.

We hope that it will be a quick trial and the truth will come out.  We’re all tired of it.

The Supreme Court Of The United States Is No Longer Supreme, It’s Political

(BrightCitizen.com) Instead set to interpreting the constitution of the United States and various cases that arise, the supreme court of the United States has become a political tool. No longer justice but politically correct is the rule of the day.
